Broadway United Methodist Women

Broadway United Methodist Women in Faith began in 1987 when a group of women arranged the purchase of land for a new church. They immediately began fundraising for the construction of the church. Throughout the existence of UMW, the organization has expanded its purpose to include the support of church, local national and international mission. The names through the years have been Woman's Missionary Society, The Woman's Home and Foreign Missionary Society, the Woman's Society of Christian Service, United Methodist Women, and today United Women in Faith. In addition to Unit membership and meetings, Broadway women may participate in any of four sub-groups:

  • Circle of Fellowship - meets at Broadway on the first Thursday of the month at 10:00 am in the W.R. Allen Hall
  • Knit Wits - meet in the church parlor on Mondays at 10:00 am
  • Square One - meets at 6:30 pm on the first Monday of each month September-May in various locations
  • The Broadway Unit - members who, because of family responsibilities, health limitation, or work schedules, choose to remain inactive within a specific sub-group.
