Music @ Broadway

Broadway has a long and wonderful tradition of vibrant music program. Everyone is invited to use their musical talent in service to God via one of the many opportunities at Broadway. Through music, we communicate our love and understanding of the Christian faith and are motivated to a keener sense of celebration and devotion. Through our musical talents, we glorify God and serve God and each other.

The Chancel Choir for adults and senior high youth rehearses Wednesday evenings 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. in the Choir Room on the 4th floor of the Educational Building. The choir sings at 10:30 a.m. Sunday morning worship presents music during festival occasions such as Christmas and Easter and sings for special occasions throughout the year. Reading music and previous experience is not a prerequisite for joining the choir, just a sincere love of music and the church. Please contact the Director of Music for more information.

The Adult Handbell Program includes a five-octave choir and occasional ensembles including solo and duets. The ensemble usually participates in American Guild of English Handbell Ringers (AGEHR)  area conferences and other festivals and gatherings. In addition to regularly playing in worship, they also prepare special programs during Christmas, Easter, and other festival times of the year. See the Director of Music for information about joining. Weekly rehearsal is on Thursday nights at 6:00 – 7:00 pm in the Handbell room on the 5th floor of the Educational Building.

The Contemporary Ensemble and Band leads musical worship at the 9:00 a.m. weekly service. The band consists of volunteers along with professional pianist, bass guitarist, and drummer. They are joined by willing and talented volunteer singers and the music genre covers the full spectrum of traditional praise and worship, to gospel, to CCM top forty. Participation is open to all – contact the Director of Music for more information/audition. Weekly rehearsal meets 8:00 on Sunday morning in the sanctuary to run through the music.

Instrumentalists and Others: Do you play an instrument or have other talents you might like to share with the church? Please contact the Director of Music for ways you might be able to connect and share your talents!
